The Environmental Scan document is an important vehicle for communicating the workforce development issues and priorities of industry to policy makers and advisors. It provides valuable insight into the recent experiences of enterprises and gives opportunity to reflect on the effectiveness of the vocational education and training (VET) system, in addressing and supporting industry to grow and evolve in the current business climate.
MSA’s report attempts to capture the experiences of the manufacturing and automotive industries. MSA acknowledges that it will not reflect all views from all stakeholders however, it articulates the emerging themes and shared stories gathered from interviews, site visits, surveys, feedback, industry research and countless conversations.
These are presented in four main sections; Latest industry intelligence, Identified workforce development needs, Current impact of Training Packages and Future directions for endorsed components of Training Packages.
