Australian Maunfacturing Workers Union (AMWU)Ian is a National Projects Officer for the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) with national responsibility for skills and training related matters. Ian is a boilermaker by trade and has been with AMWU since 1989. He is Deputy Chair of Manufacturing Skills Australia, the National Industry Skills Council for Manufacturing. He is a member of the board of the Adelaide Training and Employment Centre and a Deputy member of the SA Training and Skills Commission and a member of the Commission's Training Regulation Reference Group. Ian represents the ACTU on the COAG Overseas Skills Recognition Working Group and the National Quality Council's National Consistency Action Group. |

He has direct work experience in Brewing and Soft Drinks, Snackfood and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industries; also Rail, Printing and Post. He also has experience as a service technician for high speed date and batch printing on finished product throughout all manufacturing sectors. Simons current role is an Organiser with the Electrical Trades Union, servicing members in Manufacturing, Water and Automotive Industries. Simon is also a current member of the Electrotechnology and Water Skills Board and is an active member of the Grange Surf Life Saving Club for the past 18 years.
